Meet the Humans

  • Aimee

Aimee is the owner and operator of Beloved Miniature Horses. She believes in fostering a sincere connection between human and animal, building trust and exercising compassion. She recognized that full sized horses can be intimidating for inexperienced handlers, and miniature horses have all of the lovable qualities of a full sized horse in the perfect sized package (bonus: they can fit through an average door). She graciously shares 20+ years of experience working with horses!

  • Ma'am

Lyda is the one who holds it together and is the owner of Double Diamond Stable, home of all our minis/ponies and horses! Her 6:30 am-9:00 pm workdays consist of feeding horses, leading them to their paddocks, making sure all water buckets are clean and refilled, mucking stalls, putting new sawdust down, sweeping, scooping feed and supplements for each horse's next meal, leading horses into the barn, providing night hay, putting fresh hay outside for the next day, and all repairs to fencing, stalls, etc. She also picks up and orders feed, hay, sawdust, and schedules vet visits, deworming and farriers. The barn consists of 30 horses at any given time. Needless to say, she is a busy lady!

  • Keirsten Perry

Keirsten Perry is a Certified Equine Massage Therapist. She has a passion for horses and sports medicine so becoming an equine massage therapist was a dream job and became a reality. Horses (ponies and minis) use around 700 muscles a day, between grazing and working and she brings some relief to those strains and sprains or just give them a much-needed therapeutic massage. You can follow her on Facebook and Instagram: Maritime Equinassage.

  • Veronicalee

Veronicalee is an elementary school teacher, but she likes to spend her spare time around more furry and quiet creatures. Veronicalee has always been an animal lover and owner. Along with boarding her horse at DD stables, she was an active Canadian Pony Club member who enjoyed participating in shows and horse clinics. After taking some time to work and travel abroad, Veronicalee is excited to be back in the Maritimes and to help others learn more about horses and fall in love with these amazing creatures.

  • Chloé

Chloé is a student, but spends the majority of her spare time at the barn. Chloé has had a love for horses ever since she can remember and started pony school lessons with Aimee in 2015. She loves to share the knowledge and experience she’s gained from her countless hours spent at the barn doing various tasks. Chloé has a love for horses and animals that she would like to share with all of you. She looks forward to all of the new adventures to come.

Meet the Horses

  • Party

This love-bug is rightfully named, as he is a Party-animal! Party (Wildberry Party-On) is 7 years old, full of energy and loves adventures. A few places he has visited include Bass Pro Shop (for an annual photo with Santa), Seniors Residences, Greenhawk, Oultons College, and many other homes! He is known for wearing his sneakers during his indoor visits, not only are they cute but they prevent him from slipping on hard floors. We are so lucky to have found you, Party, after your trip from AB to NB!

  • Carlois

Carlois (Remsheg ‘Lil Carlois) is full of personality! Many times he has zipped and unzipped peoples jackets, loves to pick up things with his mouth and is goofy and playful. Carlois has given many ‘first rides’ and is our go-to for pony rides as he is one of our larger Miniature Horses. This 9 year old has many tricks up his sleeves- is trained to pull a cart both single and double!

  • Charlotte

Quite possibly our largest Miniature Horse, Charlotte (AH Spectacular Miss Charlotte) has a personality you won’t forget! She was born at our stable in Irishtown NB 6 years ago. We were fortunate enough to witness her birth, and able to offer her unconditional love and affection her entire life. She will always be the first horse to greet you at the gate and loves people. Charlotte is one of our pony ride horses, and has also been hooked with Skyee to the wagon. She takes things in slowly, can be scared of new things, and will always look to her handler for strength if she is scared.

  • MacGregor

The moment we saw the for-sale add for MacGregor (Tidals Who’s Your Daddy) , we knew he was the perfect fit for our family. Born and raised on PEI, he has tons of experience in the show world, jumping, obstacles, in the cart. You name it, he has done it! He is now 20 years old, very patient while young ones are leading him and doing obstacles and loves to eat fresh grass any chance he gets!

  • Norah

Norah (Norah Belle) is a little beauty came to be with us just last spring and is still learning the ropes. Approximately 10 years of age, Norah is actually a pony due to her size, not a Miniature Horse. She is very elegant, with a sweet personality. We hope to introduce her to more clients this summer and into the fall.

  • Ruby Tuesday

She was born on a Tuesday, of course! She is Sundaes baby girl. She is spunky, curious, and (like most children) not scared of anything! She loves people and her little muzzle is always poking around discovering everything new!

  • Shamious

How can you not LOVE this unique little horse? Shamois is our oldest Miniature Horse, at 21 years old and has more attitude than you can imagine! He loves to stand to be groomed, especially enjoys when you brush and play with his mane and will close his eyes and have a nap. Shamois is trained to pull a cart, has been to a fair number of shows however is now mostly enjoying retirement.

  • Skyee

Skyee is definitely the boss mare of the herd, and not afraid to show the other horses how she is feeling. She is 11 years old, amazing with kids when they are learning to lead and enjoys our Pony School program. We were lucky to purchase her from a show home in NS, where she was already trained to pull a cart with lots of experience. Her and Carlois make a great team when hooked to the wagon together.

  • Sundae

“Sundae” is a small pony about 6 years of age, who found us only a year ago. When we picked her up, we were told she was in foal and possibly due in August. After what seemed like the longest wait, her baby “Ruby Tuesday” was born – in November.

Meet the Critters

  • Charley

Charley is our 2 year old border collie from Fairfield Border Collies. Charley has a way of keeping everyone in line and loves to play catch! While he is super cute, he does not like cuddles as he is a working dog.

  • Chase

Bother to Flo-Rider is the smaller pigmy goat. Like most goats, he loves eating. He mostly minds his business and hides from his brother Flo Rider. We like to give Chase his space because he doesn’t really enjoy being pet.

  • Flo-Rida

Flo-Rider is one of our pigmy goats. Because he was bottle fed, he is extra friendly and sociable. He loves scratches, going for goat walks in the forest, eating EVERYTHING and fighting with his brother “Chase”.
